Thank you to everyone who joined us in launching Listening from the Heart. This program was built in response to cries for help from communities polarized around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is rooted in lessons of empathy and humanization we’ve learned over the years from Palestinian and Israeli peacemakers. We are excited to bring these voices to divided classrooms, workplaces, and communities to foster empathic conversations about the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
We heard from Elijah and Jadd, Jewish and Palestinian leaders of Atidna International, about how their campus has felt tribal, with a lack of nuance or communication. I was moved when Elijah said “By hearing the stories of loss and pain and utilizing it for mutual understanding, it allows us to come to similar conclusions. If they can do it, we can do it too.”
