Justice for Aisha

Yacoub Al-Rabi is a bereaved Palestinian husband, Parents Circle member, and staff. Today the settler who killed his wife Aisha was found guilty.

He waited eight years for this verdict – eight years during which he did everything he could to promote peace and reconciliation, choosing not to walk the path of revenge. Standing beside him today were his bereaved Israeli friends from the Parents Circle.

Nothing can bring Aisha back to her family. But acknowledging the crime and holding the person responsible accountable is an important step.

"This day was not easy. It brought back much pain and many memories, yet it also carried a feeling that the voice of truth is being heard and that justice is beginning to take its course after a long period of patience and waiting.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to the members of the Parents Circle who stood by my side during this difficult day for their human support, presence, and companionship, which greatly eased the weight of this moment.

Aisha was not just a name in a legal file; she was a person full of life and love, and her memory will always remain alive in our hearts.

We hope this step will be the beginning of a path toward justice and fairness.

May Aisha rest in peace. You will always remain in our hearts."

Outside the courthouse, a group of unruly extremist settlers were waiting and shouted insults, but our members ignored them.

The pain does not disappear, yet the pursuit of justice and the recognition of suffering are part of the path toward a future in which no more innocent lives are lost.

Together with Yacoub, we will continue to believe in peace and justice for Aisha.

Honor Aisha’s memory – make a gift in support of peace and reconciliation.
