Sunday, September 21 is the International Day of Peace. On this day, people around the world—activists, students, public figures, politicians, and civilians—unite in a powerful call to action for peace. It might seem painfully contradictory to talk about peace when the situation in Palestine and Israel remains dire, with continued killing and displacement, hostages missing, and endless trauma. This week, bereaved Israelis and Palestinians are inviting people around the world to sign a Pledge for Peace, uniting around the values we can agree upon in even the darkest times.
