Facing court and civil challenges to judicial overhaul, Israel’s government attacks peace education. The Parents Circle – Families Forum, a nonprofit organisation with both Palestinian and Israeli bereaved families – will no longer be allowed to operate activities in Israeli schools.
The Israeli Palestinian Bereaved Families for Peace, a grassroots organization promoting reconciliation, has been experiencing in recent years what Breaking the Silence went through before: a ludicrous branding as enemies of the people, systematic threats, and attempts to sabotage any public appearance, as well as a ban from schools.
More than 90 school principals from around Israel have signed a letter published on Wednesday supporting school programming by the Parents Circle – Families Forum, which represents Israelis and Palestinians who have lost loved ones to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The ban was following a rule change by Education Minister Yoav Kisch that prohibits educational programming that slanders the IDF or soldiers.
The Israeli Education Ministry yesterday banned the grassroots organization, Parents Circle-Families Forum (PCFF), which comprises bereaved Israeli and Palestinian families, from arranging activities at schools.
The Parents Circle – a nonprofit organization with both Palestinian and Israeli bereaved families – will no longer be allowed to operate activities in Israeli schools. The Education Ministry made the announcement following pressure from right-wing groups.
