Days of Solidarity

Last week, dozens of Israelis and Palestinian peacebuilders visited Mikhmas, a small village near Ramallah. Our presence was not merely a visit, but a message of solidarity and support for the local residents who face daily challenges in protecting their land, their homes, and their way of life. The village has been repeatedly targeted by settler attacks in recent weeks.

Yaakub Alrabi, a bereaved Palestinian husband, shared about his experience:

“We listened to the villagers and learned firsthand about the hardships and pressures they endure under recurring attacks. One of our Young Ambassadors for Peace, Yussef, showed us where settlers attacked him and his friend. Walking through the area deepened our sense of responsibility to support people who continue to hold onto their land and dignity despite everything.”

“Afterward, I participated in a Dialogue Meeting, in which I shared my story of loss alongside Israeli PCFF member Avi. It was a powerful and emotional encounter marked by mutual respect, attentive listening, and genuine human connection. Despite our different backgrounds, our stories reminded us that human suffering is universal, and that recognizing the pain of others does not diminish our own pain—it strengthens our shared humanity.

The day was a great success because it created a space for dialogue, understanding, and listening. It reinforced our belief that a better future begins with acknowledging reality, hearing each others’ stories, and holding on to hope even with deep wounds.”

“Thank you to the people of Mikhmas for your warm welcome, and to all Parents Circle members who contributed to making this day meaningful. Together, we continue to walk a difficult path, but one that carries within it seeds of hope, dignity, and a more peaceful future for all.”
