200,000 people stood for peace yesterday

Tal Kfir Schurr, bereaved Israeli sister, speaking at the Isrraeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony yesterday

Last night, Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle held the largest joint Israeli and Palestinian peace event in history. Over 200,000 people joined from all over the world to show that war is not inevitable and that the pain is the same on both sides.

“I want to convey to Israeli society and the whole world a message from my bleeding wound. We all lose victims to this conflict. It doesn't tell apart soldiers from civilians. Women or men. Children or adults. Or between those taking part and bystanders. The conflict’s man-made. And humans can end it.”

Following the ceremony, hundreds gathered in Zoom rooms to hear the stories of bereaved Israeli and Palestinian members of the Parents Circle share their stories.

"We need courage. Like the courage you are displaying in this gathering. You, with your courage, enable us all to imagine a different future, because you embody that hope.”
