This year, Passover and Easter fall on the same weekend. Passover and Easter are about telling a story. They’re about listening to a story and sharing a story with our community.
On this Passover and Easter, we invite those of you celebrating to recognize the power of sharing a narrative.
The Parents Circle works to promote telling, listening and sharing the historical, national and personal stories of both sides of the conflict. When Israeli and Palestinian participants tell their stories, we encourage listening with respect. When listening, we encourage acknowledgment of the other. When sharing, we encourage speaking to the heart.
At the root of the conflict are the mutually exclusive narratives of the Israeli and Palestinian populations. Both sides see their version as truth. Our goal is to help people move beyond exclusive truths, and begin to empathize and understand other perspectives on the same events through dialogue and narrative exchange.
